The pendant contains the spirit of the sea. It is a fiercely magical artifact that only entrusts its power to those worthy. The endless magical power it contains has lain dormant for countless years. It awakens when it is in Penelope's possession and she is in need of help.
Princess Penelope Eos Amalthea Praxis of Oracli
Princess Penelope has spent much of her youth with tutors and expanding her mind through reading. She had never travelled far outside of the capitol city Serendi.
At a young age she coerced the master swordsman to train her in secret despite the laws forbidding a woman to take up arms. Her skill in the art of war quickly became extensive and well refined. When her father discovered she had been training, he was angry at first, but allowed the lessons to continue.
Penelope is a reserved woman and is valued in her father's court for her opinion. She understands her place and knows one day she will take her father's place and lead the people of Oracli. She is completely unaware that her father has signed a marriage contract with the neighboring kingdom they are nearly on the brink of war with.
The city Serendi had been standing for thousands of years. No one truly knows where they had originally come from, but only that they had come from across the sea. No one has dared to make the crossing ever since. All those who have tried have never been seen or heard from again.
The people have focused more heavily upon magic as a science and how to manipulate to better their everyday lives. They rely mostly on trading and have become quite prosperous because of it. They have a very strong navy, and as of late have invested a great deal into their army.
The women dress usually in layers of white and cream colored fabrics while the men dress in darker clothing.
Their castle took nearly twenty years to build, and it has stood tall ever since. It is fortified by magic and no one has ever successfully invaded it. It serves as a stronghold and fortress during times of war.
King Cletus
King Cletus spent his younger years expanding their trade and reinforcing his army. He met and fell in love with a merchants daughter and broke a couple High Rules so he could marry her. Together they continued to rule in peace and with generosity. When Penelope was born, King Cletus fell in love and would do anything for his precious daughter.
When he lost Persephone, he was never the same after. His kingdom began to slip away from him until war was brought to his door. Now he struggles to maintain peace and sent an ambassador to negotiate a treaty. They ended up signing an agreement that would unite their two children in marriage.
Queen Persephone
She was considered the most beautiful woman in the whole kingdom, and possibly the whole land. She had a pure heart and a gentle spirit. She always taught Penelope to care for others and that people deserved a second chance.
Persephone died giving birth to Penelope's younger brother who soon passed away after his mother. The kingdom mourned for weeks to lose their sweet spirited matriarch.
