Catholic Home Education UK | Catholic and Loving it!

About Catholic Home Education UK...

Over the past 15 years it has been inspiring to see Catholic Home Education? flourishing in the UK. More and more families are opting to keep their children within the heart of the family where they are able to keep the world at bay and choose what and how their children learn.

Once the child reaches the ages of approximately 12 to 14 years old most families will then have to make some challenging choices. What will my children do now? Will they go down the IGCSE/GCSE route, or will we avoid them all together? Will we choose an alternative method of learning like a Catholic American curriculum or something like the Open University or a more vocational style course?

All these changes and choices are extremely foreboding for the Catholic family. At this vulnerable age many parents do not wish to place their children in school so they decide to try the exams- from- home route.

Many Catholic children have succeeded in gaining many GCSEs etc from home. This blog has been created to support and help parents to discern the best and most morally acceptable GCSEs/IGCSEs for their children and also to point them in the right direction of which boards one can use, courses which are available and exam centres or schools willing to accept external candidates.

All this can present itself as confusing and complex when first starting out so I hope this will make it more simple.

In the UK it is possible to study the traditional subjects with very few problems. Many Catholic children have taken exams in; English Language, English Literature, Mathematics, History, Latin, Greek, R.S (Bible Studies), Physics, Chemistry, Biology and quite a few more.
